the great snow escape of march 29 '08

so i went to veg fest with jessie today. it was pretty rockin. i went in there really hungry and walked out a satisfied man. there were tons of samples of vegetarian food and pretty much all of it was delicious. i got like 3 full bottles of this really awesome tea too. and jessie signed up for washington vegetarians and got a pcc tote bag full of awesome food and stuff. it only cost 20 bucks and there was at least $100 worth of stuff in the tote. i really recommend going, even if you arent vegetarian. its only 5 bucks to get in and you can really make a meal out of it.

after that we went to the mall, bellevue square, to cheese a bit and just hang or whatever. had dinner. noticed was it snowing. it wasnt sticking though. aint no thang right?

wrong.

as soon as we got on 520 there was snow everywhere. my windows were foggging up completely. cold air isnt working. snow is coming down hard, i cant see anything. i turn on hot air full fucking blast. jessie wipes the windows with her coat. it really saved the day.

snow only got worse getting towards redmond. we had two options:

1. take the lake road to the plat.
or
2. take fall city road.

we chose fall city.

snowy as hell. going like 25mph the whole time. we get to the gray barn. the heat is still on full blast because if i turn it any lower my windows start fogging completely again. its been almost an hour and me and jessie are sweating our hoohas off. its time to turn right, up the huge hill. cars are just stopped. blocking the way. i had the feeling maybe i could have made it, but there were people all over the road and i didnt wanna risk it, so i turn around and head towards the lake road.

lake road is much nicer. barely any snow on it. minimal slow downs. mind you its been like an hour and a half and the heat is still full blast. it was seriously over 90 degrees in the car. my pits were soaked. we get to inglewood hill road (whatever that street at the light is called) to make a left. things are going ok. we get about 1/4 of the way up. same situaiton. everybody is stopped. i park the car. we start walking in the 6 inches of snow. jessie has plastic flats on. no socks. she takes her shoes off and goes barefoot because it was actually more comfortable for her. everybody is abandoning their cars. it was like some creepy apocalypse movie or something. exactly like war of the worlds. and trees started to snap from the weight of the snow. it was balls ass crazy. after about 20 minutes of walking we see my dad and he takes us home. we picked up some lady on the way and took her home to her 4x4 so she could pick up her husband and baby waiting in the car. she told us we were the 5th car that she saw. the other ones just went around her and passed. what the fuck sammamish? youre too awesome to pick up old ladies off the side of the road in your bmw suv's now?

anyways. what a crazy day. i dont really expect everybody to read this far. i just needed to document this story while it was fresh in my mind. i wish i had pics. anybody else have crazy march snowday stories?



*UPDATE*
got a call from the cops around 1am. told me to move my car or they were gonna tow it. i guess the cops can get all your info from your license plate. anyways i drive down there with my dad. we find the car and start driving back. no joke we didnt even drive 100 feet and there was a tree laying across the road. what the heck. that means the tree missed us by a matter of seconds. we had to drive down the lake road and all the way around to redmond fall city. this day could not get any crazier.

so i finished the last song for the eggs split today. im pretty stoked about the songs. they came out pretty rad i think. now i just gotta get together with joe so we can put our songs together and print some cds. awesome.

i have been playing a lot of galaga lately. its a super rad arcade game from the 80's. its really hard but i have been getting better at it. my current high score is 77,950. right now the world record is 137,100 points. something to shoot for.

almost there

i recorded the vocals to the last track on the split today. now all i have to do is some percussion, then mix all the songs and i will be done. all the packaging is done and i am really excited about it.

today im gonna go work out at the gym. its going to be way fun. also i am a quasi vegetarian now. i gotta ease my way into it. i already feel a lot healthier and alive because of it though.

im listening to some new soft circles tracks right now and they are super good. hisham bharoocha is such an awesome dude. i want his name.

progeggsion

for the past two days me and joe have been making the covers for our upcoming release called eggs. we have basically all the packaging done, now we just need to finish the songs for it. im really excited for it and i hope everybody enjoys it.

so im back in redmond for spring break and will be here for the next week or so. im really glad the quarter is over and cant wait am looking forward to next quarter. i am going to be taking some sweet classes.

tonight i watched dazed and confused for the first time with jessie and i have to say i really enjoyed it. all the characters were great and super sincere. i suggest you see it sometime if you never have.

well i better go before i wake my cat up. shes so cranky sometimes.

its like the plants dont know what the fuck to do. is it winter still? is it spring now? should they push new growth? you see some trees with dead leaves and some that have decided to grow new. flowers have buds but still havent decided to show themselves. such a confusing time to be a plant, and a human for that matter. july will set everything straight. it always does.

me and joe are gonna be done with our split hopefully this week. its called eggs .we are gonna make the packaging soon. i am really excited. i havent seen joe in a long time and it will be awesome to chill with him again. i have to finish one song for it still. i have the song written i just need to record a few more parts. the packaging is gonna be sweet. you have to crack it open. its an egg after all.

i have been obsessed with this clip lately. i watch it at least once a day.

finished recording a new song today. i played it at fun collective. its gonna be on me and the feathers split coming out soon. so stoked. also i came up with a new tshirt design. now im doing hw and other bullshit that is getting in the way of me really living life! its a life hiatus!

also, i got the new smash brothers this weekend! its a really awesome game and when i play it i feel like a kid again! its a good feeling. heres some pics of me and my roomate being little kids.



also i had pizza for lunch and dinner today. what a little kids dream.
